With the success of our workshops previous year

we wanted to continue this tradition of providing an

opportunity for you to learn new skills from some of the best in climbing. Limited spots available.






 

#1 Beginner Climbing
with Nikki Hammarström and Kvibergs Climbing Club

Climber and Rope Access Technician at PETZL with 10+ years experience of providing training in the climbing field. A workshop for those who have never climbed before  or want to take the step from the climbing gym to the rock. The Kviberg Climbing Club from Göteborg has been an active club for competitors and outdoor climbers alike. They are part of the Swedish Climbing Federation (SKF) and engaged in access questions. We will have fixed top ropes and Nikki and Kvibers CC will be belaying and assisting on site. Open to all ages!

Previous experience required: None!
Personal gear needed: Climbing shoes if you have them. If not, all equipment will be provided on site.
Time and place: Saturday 10.00 Meetup @ Outdoors Stage. Duration approx 4 hours.

#2 Introduction to Trad Climbing
with Rafael Jensen

Legendary climber and alpinist with, among other things, an ascent of K2 on his record. A workshop for those of you who have never tried trad before but want to learn the basics of climbing magical cracks in Bohuslän. Topics that will be covered include: friction/dynamics, introduction to the placement of gear, anchor construction and much more.

Previous experience required: Basic knowledge of climbing.
Personal gear needed: Climbing shoes, harness, rope brake, preferably a helmet.
Time and place: Saturday 10.00 Meetup @ Outdoors Stage. Duration approx 4 hours.

Martin Meyerman
#3 Introduction to Trad Climbing
with Martin Meyerman

A devoted climber with 2 decades of experience in climbing and as an instructor and examinator for the Swedish climbing federation (SKF). 

A workshop for those of you who have never tried trad before but wants to learn the basics of climbing magical cracks in Bohuslän. Topics that will be covered include: friction/dynamics, introduction to the placement of gear, anchor construction and much more.

Previous experience required: Basic knowledge of climbing.

Personal gear needed: Climbing shoes, harness, rope brake, preferably a helmet.

Time and place: Saturday 10.00 Meetup @ Outdoors Stage. Duration approx 4 hours.

#4 Introduction to Big Wall Climbing
with Barbara Zangerl & Jacopo Larcher

Two of the greatest trad and big wall climbers out our time, ”Babsi” and Jacopo will share their experience from single pitch to the biggest climbs in the world. 

A workshop for those of you who want to learn more about trad and big wall climbing in particular from 2 of the best in the field. 

Previous experience required: Ability to climb at least Swedish grade 6-.

Personal gear needed: Personal climbing gear, standard trad rack and preferably a helmet.

Time and place: Saturday 10.00 Meetup @ Outdoors Stage. Duration approx 4 hours.

#5 Masterclass Bouldering
with Said Belhaj

Previous experience required: Basic knowledge of climbing.
Personal gear needed: Climbing shoes, chalk and a crashpad if you have one.

Time and place: Saturday 10.00 Meetup @ Outdoors Stage. Duration approx 4 hours.

Said has been climbing for over 30 years. He used to compete for the Swedish national team for 10 years in all disciplines and won the Swedish bouldering nationals several times.

In the last 20 years he has been focused on climbing on rock all over the climbing world and dedicates a big part of every season to bouldering. 

At Bohusfest he will share his experience in bouldering and especially how to bring out the best in your climbing and training for bouldering. We will also talk about safety. 

#6 Masterclass Sportclimbing
with Hannes Puman

Previous experience required: Ability to lead climb at least 6a.

Personal gear needed: Personal climbing gear, standard sport rack, rope and preferably a helmet.

Time and place: Saturday 10.00 Meetup @ Outdoors Stage. Duration approx 4 hours.

One of the world’s most talented climbers with impressive performance on both rock and at competitions to his credit. Sport, trad, multi-pitch, bouldering - he does it all. He is Sweden's big hope to make it at the Olympics, meanwhile he has climbed some impressive routes on the world’s big faces. At this years Bohusfest he will teach you all his tricks in sport climbing and share his experience. 

#7 Masterclass Trad/Adventure climbing
with Juho Knuuttila
Juho Knuuttila

Juho is an alpinist and IFMGA mountain guide aspirant. He has climbed some of the biggest faces of the Alps and been on expeditions all over the world from Patagonia to Karakorum. His greatest passion at the moment is opening new rock and winter climbing routes in Northern Scandinavia. In his workshop Juho will teach and deepen skills that are needed to be safe and efficient on multi-pitch trad climbing. Planning, transitions, climbing with a tagline and rapelling/bailing from long routes will be covered in this exciting clinic. 

Previous experience required: Ability to climb at least Swedish grade 6-.
